Come experience some Secrets of Indiana!

Today we will wander south through parts of Indiana. Our first stop will be at the Exotic Feline Rescue Center (EFRC). This is one of the largest rescue centers in the United States, featuring nearly 200 big cats from eight species. The EFRC mission is simple – to provide permanent homes for exotic felines that have been abused, abandoned or have nowhere to live. A tour guide will accompany us as we walk through the feline park.

Then we’re off to our next stop, the “Clabber Girl” Bake Shop and factory. Take a guided tour of the factory, watch a fun and informative cooking demonstration, and taste samples of all of the results. Enjoy the included lunch buffet. After lunch, you can browse their store of gourmet retail food items, including Clabber Girls’ own products.

Step back in time with our next stop, the Historic Indiana Theatre. The Theater was built in 1922, seats over 1500 people, boasts of one of the largest movie screens in Indiana – 54 feet and once hosted Vaudeville shows. A tour guide will join us as we walk through the entire theater, including the Rotunda, Lobby, Balcony, and downstairs. The tour will include the actual dressing rooms of the Vaudeville actors from the 1920’s!!!! The Indiana Theatre holds a special place in history as the first prototype for atmospheric theater design.

Final stop, the Fire and Police Museum. A tour guide will join us as we see the first motorized fire truck used in Indiana and other exhibits, displays and collections of fire-fighting equipment, including a fire pole and an operational fire alarm system. We’ll also see Terre Haute’s first horse-drawn ambulance operated by the Police Department in 1885 in this interesting historic museum.

Come with us to enjoy a sweet get away to new Hoosier places and experiences!
