Join us for this FULL day of activities! We’ll see beautiful sights, taste fresh, scrumptious treats,
learn a few things, and go back in time!
Our first stop will be Frazee Gardens, which features a year-round plant and gift shop with annuals, perennials and shrubs – plus all the gardening tools, amenities and advice needed to help visitors discover their own green thumb. The gift shop also features a variety of specialty items including works from local artisans.
While at Frazee Gardens, we will also visit with the owner of My Honey’s Hunny. We will learn the importance of honey bees with an educational seminar and demonstration from an expert bee keeper with live bees. All will get a free jar of honey from those bees!
Next, we’ll arrive at Avon Gardens. We will tour through these five acres of superbly manicured gardens and water features leave everyone thinking they’ve entered a little piece of paradise. We can admire hundreds of mature plant species, including hard-to-find collector specimens. Enjoy shopping time in the gift shop.
Then, take a step back in time to the 1960s with Andy, Barney, Otis and Aunt Bee at the nostalgic Mayberry Cafe. An experience at the Mayberry has become a visitor favorite as TVs air looping reruns of The Andy Griffith Show inside, while outside they get pictures with Andy’s squad car. Enjoy home-style cooking and comfort food favorites that you will swear Aunt Bee made herself!
Afterwards, enjoy a little shopping time on the town square. There are several locally owned, quaint shops to browse through.
Next, we will be joined by the Chocolatier and owner of Confection Delights, a nearby custom, gourmet chocolate shop. She will give us a hands on demonstration of how she makes chocolate. Then, each guest will be able to hand dip their own pretzel rod into the chocolate and add special toppings to make it extra delicious.
We’ll end our day with a tour of Beasley’s Orchard. Voted a top Indiana destination, this orchard is a family-owned business boasts a Civil War-era barn featuring a local market with both homemade and home-grown produce and products including apples, fresh vegetables, jellies and more. We will tour the orchard on a handicap accessible hayride and learn the correct way to choose and pick an apple. Afterwards, we will enjoy an included apple dumpling and a cup of Beasley’s apple cider, voted “The Best Apple Cider in Indiana.”
Come with us for this full day of fun!
