This trip is an active adventure from the outset, beginning with our dune buggy ride at Mac Woods Dune Rides. Hang on to your hat and bring the shades as you barrel to the top of the dunes! We continue on to Horton Bay, MI with a quick souvenir stop at the Horton Bay General Store, the stomping grounds of a young Ernest Hemingway. Then off to Petoskey where a tour of Kilwin’s Chocolates and beautiful shores await us. There will be time to explore the quaint village of Petoskey and look for your own Petoskey Stone. At sunset, we make our way to the Headlands International Dark Sky Park, one of six Dark Sky Parks in the USA where we will enjoy a picturesque sunset and program by Mary Stewart Adams, a story teller, author and star lore historian before we call it a day.

Next stop, Newberry MI located deep within Lake Superior State Forest in Michigan’s U. P. A wilderness adventure is in store, we will take a 24” narrow gauge train ride into the Tahquamenon Forest aboard the Toonerville Trolley. Viewing the habitat of all species that call the U.P. home, towering pines, majestic maples to gray wolves, eagles, deer and possibly a black bear. From the train we take the Hiawatha river boat to Tahquamenon Falls, one the largest falls in the US east of the Mississippi, second only to Niagara Falls! We will overnight in Newberry and begin our next day at the Oswald Bear Ranch, a 240 acre bear habitat; orphaned cubs spend their entire life on the ranch. There is a controlled feeding opportunity with the cubs for an additional fee.

We will make our away around Lake Michigan to Iron Mountain Iron Mine in Vulcan, MI. where we will go 400 feet below the earth’s surface and see amazing rock formations and large underground lighted caverns. On to Green Bay, home to the revered Green Bay Packers where we tour of Lambeau Field, one of the most awe inspiring stadiums in the NFL and the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame. Four Lombardi trophies, this is a bucket list item!

We will travel on to Milwaukee, WI the birthplace of Captain Fredrick Pabst, Pabst Brewing Company which began on March 12, 1889 and home to the Pabst Mansion. The beer baron’s mansion was built during America’s Gilded Age, after 2 years it was completed with a price tag of $254,000 including the exclusive artwork collection! We will over night at the Potawatomi Hotel and Casino where you will enjoy some time with Lady Luck. We round out our trip with a participation activity, Milwaukee Laverne and Shirley Style! A brewery tour, mini bowling, lunch and a frozen treat all with costumed guides as we say good bye to Milwaukee. Schlemiel, Schlimazel, Hasempfeffer Incorporated!

This trip contains outdoor activities that occur rain or shine, walking distances reach one mile and you must be 21 years of age to participate in this trip.
