“Life is pretty when you are free.” Gustav Potthoff, former WWII POW and museum volunteer.  Imperial Travel takes you inside Atterbury-Bakalar Air Museum.  Bakalar Air Force Base, originally known as Atterbury Air Base, was opened in February, 1943. Its original name was borrowed from the Army’s then-active Camp Atterbury. From WWII’s Tuskegee Airmen, the Cuban Missile Crisis to the 71st SOS in Vietnam the now retired air field contains history, planes and artifacts from our nation’s history.  We will be welcomed by veteran and community volunteers as we explore the contributions of Atterbury-Bakalar Air Force Base to our nation.  Your included lunch will be at nearby Hangar 5. We venture south to Brown County State Park, where the park naturalist will step onto the coach narrating our tour through one of Indiana’s most popular state parks.  The remainder of the afternoon is yours in historic Nashville, IN.  Enjoy shopping in Nashville boutiques, one of kind artisan shops and dine in quaint restaurants. Included is a voucher to relax at Country Heritage Winery with a few tastes of awarding winning Indiana wines.
