This trip is a journey of faith, survival and forgiveness. The day begins with a visit to the Providence Center at the St. Mary’s of the Woods Campus in Terre Haute, Indiana. Our host will lead us through the life of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, an early immigrant from France that arrived homeless with a small band of sisters in October of 1840. Within 8 months of arrival to the country they had established their first academy that later became St. Mary’s of the Woods College.

After an included lunch, we visit CANDLES (Children of Auschwitz Nazi Deadly Lab Experiment Survivors) Holocaust Museum and Education Center. We will meet Eva Kor. Ms. Kor is a survivor of Dr. Josef Mengele’s twin experiments during WWII. Our visit will include a lecture by Ms. Kor and a tour of the museum and education center. The material of the museum is appropriate for middle school ages and up, we ask that the museum’s recommendation be observed for the comfort of all on the trip.

Before leaving Terre Haute we will visit the famous Grand Traverse Pie Company for an on your own dinner. For those interested, we will be coordinating a pie order with Grand Traverse Pie Company. They will bake pre-ordered pies the morning of our arrival for pick up at dinner.

Join us for a day of reflection and fellowship
